Abstract:
TiO2/SnO2 coatings are formed by plasma electrolytic oxidation of titanium substrate in supporting electrolyte (10 g/L Na3PO4·12H2O) with addition of various concentrations of SnO2 particles. Photocatalytic activity (PA) of TiO2/SnO2 coatings was evaluated by measuring the degradation of methyl orange under simulated sunlight conditions. It was observed that PA of TiO2/SnO2 coatings strongly depends on the concentration of SnO2 particles in the electrolyte, i.e., the highest PA was observed with addition of 0.3 g/L of SnO2 particles to supporting electrolyte.
