dc.description.abstract | We report a study of the cathode sheath (CS) space of the argon glow discharges in the abnormal DC regime by means of the iterative kinetic model. By matching the model shapes of the side-on spectra with the experimental data for the Ar II 460.954 nm line obtained via optical emission spectroscopy, we have estimated the thickness of the CS space and the distributions of the electric field strength and gas temperature over the entire CS space of discharge.
