Abstract:
The new generation of atmospheric plasma system, which is running in the pulse resonance cycle, is designed to increase the possibility of applications for an atmospheric plasma treatment. This plasma system, together with a specially designed plasma pin reactor, is able to generate plasma discharge at an area of hundreds of cm2 with the air gap between electrodes of up to 65 mm. The electrical characterization of different configurations of the plasma pin reactor is described in this article. Dependences between an air gap, numbers of discharge points and output voltage, and current and power for specific configurations are measured and evaluated. This study shows a strong dependence of the maximum power on the air gap and a weak dependence on the number of discharge points. The results from this study are used to design a high volume plasma pins reactor, which could be used for an atmospheric plasma treatment in the industry.
