dc.description.abstract | A crossed-beam collision geometry has been successfully applied to a double trochoidal electron spectrometer. In order to improve the efficiency of the instrument, an original design of the sample gas inlet system has been developed. The instrument has been tested by measuring low energy vibrational excitation of the nitrogen molecule. A high energy resolution and a high sensitivity have been achieved. Obtained spectra exhibit some new structure, not previously recorded in a similar measurements. © 1998 American Institute of Physics. | en |
