Abstract:
This work is dedicated to Stark broadening of singly ionized Molybdenum spectral lines in UV spectrum. We present stark widths of 43 Mo II spectral lines in the wavelength range 275 to 376 nm measured at electron density of ≈ 1.5 × 1023 m−3 and electron temperature of ≈ 13000 K. A Laser Induced Plasma, employed as a radiation source, has a very rich spectrum in Mo II lines in UV region at the aforementioned plasma parameters. All spectra are recorded side on in the imaging mode of the ICCD camera and spectral lines are obtained applying inverse Abel transform. In cases of partially overlapping lines we apply a multi-peak fit procedure. Well isolated Mo I and Mo II spectral lines, not just from UV region, are used in Saha-Boltzmann method to estimate electron temperature and electron density. Width of well researched He I 388.86 nm line is employed as an independent check of electron density value. All Stark width results are presented normalized to 1 × 1023 m−3 electron density.
