Abstract:
The electron impact excitation of the CO molecule was investigated using a crossed beam double trochoidal electron spectrometer. The relative differential cross sections at forward and backward angles for excitation of the ground state vibrational levels of CO via 2π shape resonance were measured. The signal from the channeltron was processed by a fast charge amplifier, voltage amplifier, and high-voltage filters. The results confirmed symmetric angular distribution, relative to 90°, of scattered electrons vis 2π resonance.
