Abstract:
It is demonstrated that in the leading-edge timing of slow amplifier pulses the functional dependence of timing on amplitude, or amplitude walk, is regular and may be satisfactorily analytically described. In a multiparameter coincidence system working in the list mode this dependence can then be used to off-line correct for this systematic effect in the wide dynamic range. The quality of the correction is illustrated by the time-resolved measurement of the effects induced by neutrons propagating in different media. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
