Abstract:
The production of the ++ resonance in high energy collisions of C12 with the carbon nucleus, using a 2 m propane bubble chamber, was investigated. The technique for background estimation is proposed. The mass and the width of the resonance were obtained. The ratio between pion production from ++ and direct pion creation was estimated assuming that the NNN process is dominant. © 1992 The American Physical Society.
