Abstract:
We investigated the effect of a permanent magnetic field as an environmental factor on fluorescence spectra and temperature of intact plant leaves. It has been shown that magnetic fields can induce significant changes in fluorescence spectra and leaf temperature. The fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) and change of leaf temperature ΔT increase with the increase of magnetic field intensity. The increase of ΔT due to magnetic fields is explained with a simple model. Reasonable agreement between calculated ΔT, based on the model, and measured ΔT was obtained.
