It is suggested that noncommutative geometry modifies the Einstein field equations through the introduction of a field energy associated to the gradient of the commutator. An expression is found for the new term in the quasi-classical, weak-field, WKB approximation. © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
