Abstract:
This paper presents some results of investigations of a slipway used for the side launching and pulling out of ships on inland waterways. The slipway on which three platforms move synchronously is 108 m long and 100 m wide, and is used for the launching and pulling out of ships up to 120 m long, 25 m wide, weighing up to 24000 kN. Investigations of construction parts of the slipway - ground, ground way and platforms, electric parameters of winches and synchronization of platform operation have been performed. Measurements of forces in ropes and of the current in winch electric motors have been performed and obtained results are presented. Some advantages of this slipway are given. The pulling out and launching of a ship weighing 15360 kN owned by a Swedish ship-owner has practically confirmed the potentials of the investigated slipway.
